Black Might Gaine (ブラックマイトガイン) is a Brave robot from The Brave Express Might Gaine television series. He is a near identical copy of Might Gaine, formed from the combination of Black Gaine, Black Might Wing, Black Locomorizer and Black Pilder.

Black Might Gaine himself is a homage to Mazinger Z, in his debut pose, black color scheme and having the Black Pilder docked on his head, a direct reference to Z's Hover Pilder.

Overview

As the same for Black Gaine, Black Might Gaine is an exact copy of Might Gaine based on stolen data, with only a few differences such as a brand new color scheme, chest sigil, and head cover, along with a new fourth component to the combination known as the Black Pilder, which docks on top of Black Might Gaine's head.

• Black Locomorizer

An exact replica of the Locomorizer, save for a new color scheme, robot head section and front emblem.

• Black Might Wing

An exact replica of the Might Wing, save for a new color scheme.

• Black Pilder

A new component compared to Might Gaine, this small turbine-propelled aircraft docks on top of Black Might Gaine's head and serves as a cockpit for Hoi Kow Lou, his parrot and Chinja Rosu. Black Might Gaine could still operate without the Black Pilder. It seems that the Black Pilder is not only used for Black Might Gaine but for Hoi's other robots too. This machine is a direct reference to Mazinger Z's Hover Pilder.

• Control Mask

A giant remote-controlled face mask that is designed to subdue any Super-AI robots under Hoi Kow Lou's control by docking onto the robot's face. It was used to control Black Gaine's Super-AI unit, but was destroyed by Black Gaine himself after being freed from Hoi's control, albeit at the cost of Black's destruction.

Named Equipments & Abilities

• Black Slicer, Black Shield, Black Cutter, Black Discharger

Although unused, as Black Might Gaine is a nearly exact replica of Might Gaine so it can be assumed that he carries all of these equipments.

• Black Signal Beam

Similar to Might Gaine's Signal Beam, but the beams' color are now black and white.

• Black Searcher

A powerful red lamp mounted in the chest that can be used to blind enemies.

• Black Cannon

A pair of cannons mounted on the hips.

• Black Vulcan

Similar to Might Gaine's Mighty Vulcans - clavicle-mounted machine guns.

• Black Dourinken (ブラック動輪剣)

Black Might Gaine's main weapon. It is similar to Might Gaine's Dourinken aside from sporting a completely different, basic ax-shaped hilt.

• Tate-Ichimonjigiri (縦一文字斬り)

Only seen in the games, where Black Might Gaine said that he learned the technique from watching Might Gaine doing it.

• Yoko-Ichimonjigiri (横一文字斬り)

Only seen in the Brave Saga games. Similar to Might Gaine's move.

• Double Dourinken (ダブル動輪剣)

Similar to Might Gaine's ultimate final technique, only seen in the Brave Saga games.

History

During Episode 16, Hoi Kow Lou ordered the combination of Black Might Gaine to fight on terms with Might Gaine. After a long, tough battle, Might Gaine emerged the victor with his Tate-Ichimonjigiri technique, delivering a damaging but non-fatal slash. After the skirmish, Black returned to his former self, with Black Gaine soon detaching and taking the Control Mask with him in order to prevent Might Gaine from being controlled, eventually exploding mid-air. His head falling in front of Might Gaine, Black shared his last words with the Brave robot before shutting down.

However, it seems that Black Gaine's A.I was still intact and functional, as he is seen being rebuilt alongside the other Brave robots in the show's epilogue in Episode 47.

Brave Saga

Black Might Gaine appears in both Brave Saga and Brave Saga 2 respectively. In Brave Saga, when Black Might Gaine is brainwashed, ignore him and just defeat Duplicate Embryo, then afterwards Black Might Gaine will join the team. With this save data, if converted into Brave Saga 2 data with the game started, after the second fight with Sodora Queen, Black Might Gaine will show up and join the team.

Brave Wars

Just like in the television series, Black Gaine got brainwashed by the Black controller, immediately combining into Black Might Gaine, however with Nayuta Saori's precisive shot , Black Might Gaine will be free'd and then join the Brave Express.

Black Might Gaine's brave command is good, However of course, you need to level him up.
